[The Major is standing by the coffee machine waiting for it to brew that dark nectar. He rubs his face and notes to himself he could probably do with a shave after his coffee and migraine medication kick in. Pinching the bridge of his nose and shutting his eyes tight as another throb radiates from the base of his skull, the coffee machine gurgles to a stop and he pours himself a mug and pops the cream colored pill in his mouth and downs it with a drink of coffee. It seems time flies when you’re busy.
He rests his hands on either side of a data pad on the counter top as he looks over things and catching up on missed messages.]

Kaidan nodded a silent ‘thank you’ as he took the offered drink. “Well right now there’s not a whole lot I’d want to buy for myself, but I’ve got a few things I’m saving up for after this war is over,” he replied with a hint of amused thoughtfulness to his tone before taking another drink.
“Oh? Mind if I ask what your ambitions are after the war?” He was genuinely curious. Sure, there were the occasional ambitions talked about but it was nice to talk about it again. Especially given he had no idea about his own plans.
“Well, I’d love to get a place of my own in Vancouver, or in the mountains outside of the city, hopefully close to the bay even; I may even take up boating if I do,” Kaidan replied with a hint of an embarrassed chuckle. He idly rotated his bottle in his hands, “What about you? Do you have any plans?”

Kaidan chuckles genuinely, “Doesn’t really matter, I use the credits for the alcohol. Though I prefer credits, I wouldn’t want them to think they can short change me on the booze.”
“It’s a vicious cycle, isn’t it? Get credits, buy booze. Work more, get credits, buy food. Nothing you can spend on yourself like… Uh, well, I don’t really know what you’d buy on your own.” Boss chuckled and got up to make himself another drink, grabbing a bottle for Kaidan before returning to the chair and offering Kaidan his drink.

“Must be, but then again someone’s gotta do it, so I’ll just clock in over time for it,” Kaidan replied matter of factly before finishing off his beer in one last swig.
“Do you get your overtime paid in credits or alcohol? Because I might be willing to take some of that time off your hands, vod.”
Kaidan chuckles genuinely, “Doesn’t really matter, I use the credits for the alcohol. Though I prefer credits, I wouldn’t want them to think they can short change me on the booze.”

“I’ve been tempted to do that,” The Spectre chuckled before taking a drink. “I think that’s why John dumps the paperwork and datapad pushing to me, he knows I’m too responsible for that.”
“Funny… I thought he just liked to torture you at times.” Boss offered a friendly smile and a laugh before finishing his drink. He kept the glass in his hands, letting the condensation moisten his hands slightly. “Perhaps it’s both?”
“Must be, but then again someone’s gotta do it, so I’ll just clock in over time for it,” Kaidan replied matter of factly before finishing off his beer in one last swig.

“I hear ya, it’s even more frustrating when it’s paperwork keeping you from going out on the field,” Kaidan replied swirling his bottle idly, “And it does nothing but stack higher and higher.”
“I’m surprised you haven’t just torched the stack and told the others to fuck off, to be honest… I’m damn glad I don’t have to do any sort of paperwork. Usually.” Boss chuckled before sipping his concoction and leaning back into the chair.

Kaidan nodded with a soft smile of his own before taking another drink. “How about you? Any news?”
“Heh, why would I have news?” A quick drink was had in between his speaking. “I’ve got nothing, really. It’s been relatively quiet here. I’m wanting to get out there and fight again but it’s not happening, it seems.”
“I hear ya, it’s even more frustrating when it’s paperwork keeping you from going out on the field,” Kaidan replied swirling his bottle idly, “And it does nothing but stack higher and higher.”

“Things have been, quiet. But I’ve recently gotten word back from my squad, still kicking ass on earth,” Kaidan replied before raising his bottle. “Thought it was something worth drinking to tonight.”
His smile grew slightly brighter at mention of Kaidan’s squad making contact. “That’s definitely worth drinking too, vod. Any news from Earth is good news right now. Glad your squad is making it as well.” Boss raised his glass and took a drink, savoring the taste.

“Good evening, good to see you,” Kaidan replied looking over at the other man and making a gesture to the empty seat beside him. He took a drink from his bottle as he waited for Boss to join him before handing him the drink he made by the other’s request.
“Good to see you as well.” Boss took the offered drink before sitting down next to Kaidan, smiling as he settled in. “Been too long since we’ve done this, I think. How are things going with you?”

bioticboywonder replied to your post: Hey Boss, it’s been a while, was wondering if you wanted to drop by the lounge for a drink.
-He smiles.- You got it, I’ll see you there.
A few minutes later, the Mandalorian walked into the lounge wearing his maroon fatigues from his time with the Republic. He looked around before spotting Kaidan and nodding to him. “Evening, Spectre Alenko.”
